If you like Shakira, chances are you also like her on Facebook. Today (July 18), it was announced that the "Can't Remember To Forget You" singer has become the first person on the social networking site to exceed 100 million "likes" on her fan page.

Previously, Shakira had surpassed fellow music superstar Rihanna as the most liked person on Facebook, but now she's smashing all other records.

According to the Boston Herald, the sudden and historic boost to Shakira's presence on Facebook came courtesy of her 2014 World Cup anthem "La La La."

Largely celebrated as having the superior song to the "official" 2014 FIFA World Cup song "We Are One (Ole Ola)" from Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez and Claudie Leitte, Shakira performed "La La La" at the World Cup closing ceremonies over the weekend, before Germany bested Argentina for the coveted gold trophy.

Thanks to the publicity, Shakira went from being well-liked on Facebook to mega-liked, a milestone she celebrated with a thank you video posted to, well, her official Facebook page of course!

Featuring a collection of some of her most popular posts to Facebook over the years set to a heartfelt beat, Shakira closed out the clip with a handwritten note to her fans.

"100 million friends on Facebook! Thank you so much for joining me and propelling me on this incredible journey. I couldn't do it without you all! Much love, Shakira," she penned alongside a drawing of a big ol' pair of lips.

She also posted a personal thank you shout-out.

Shakira's most recent album Shakira was released in March.
