Sufjan Stevens's songs from Call Me By Your Name are confirmed for release on limited edition vinyl. The record will be called Mystery of Love.

Fans of Stevens should have to immediately purchase the limited edition record because only 10,000 copies will be sold at participating Record Store Day stores from April 21 onward. Stevens's three songs from Call Me By Your Name are "Mystery of Love," "Visions of Gideon," and "Futile Devices."

"Mystery of Love" and "Visions of Gideon" were both written specifically for the critically acclaimed 2017 movie. Stevens released "Futile Devices" in 2010, but its remixed version was commissioned specifically for the movie. The Call Me By Your Name soundtrack was released in November of last year.

Luca Guadagnino Gushes Over Sufjan Stevens

During a recent interview, Luca Guadagnino, the director of the movie, shared how Stevens became involved in the soundtrack. He said that the singer submitted his three songs about a week into shooting the film in 2016.

"Well, we were in my living room. It was me, Walter [Fasano], Armie [Hammer], and Timothée [Chalamet]. And I remember it was blissfulness and emotion. It was a great moment, because we were very united already, but it's something you can't describe, in a way..." said Guadagnino.

After hearing Stevens's recordings, Guadagnino, Fasano, Hammer, and Chalamet's commitment to the film strengthened.

Sufjan Stevens Musical Approach

Last year, the "Chicago" singer talked about his involvement in Call Me By Your Name. He said that his songs are actually quite formal, and he is also an essentialist by nature. This is why his three songs in the movie are all based on traditional forms of songwriting.

"The sounds themselves are based on that sort of desire for discovery and something new. I think it's important to stay open to new things, and stay curious. I don't know, I think I'm always interested in writing the perfect song, and sailing towards that," said Stevens.

Stevens is a 42-year-old American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. In 2000, he released his debut album A Sun Came.

Stevens is best known for his 2005 album Illinois, which rose to the top of the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart. The singer received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song at this year's ceremony for "Mystery of Love."

Some of his most popular songs include "Should Have Known Better," "Death With Dignity," "Impossible Soul," "To Be Alone With You," "John My Beloved," and "Sister Winter."
