Avril Lavigne just hinted on her upcoming comeback. The singer has been working in the studio for the past couple of months.

On her Twitter account, the 33-year-old singer shared a black and white photo of herself during a late night vocal session. Lavigne did not share any details about what she is working on, but it seems that she is gearing to release a new album.

Avril Lavigne's Fifth Studio Album Is Not The Last

The singer dropped her last album in 2013, and Avril Lavigne contained songs, such as, "Hello Kitty," "Here's To Never Growing Up," "Give You What You Like," "Bad Girl," "Let Me Go," "Rock N Roll," and "How You Remind Me."

Prior to the release of her fifth studio album five years ago, Lavigne said that her self-titled project is the best album she has ever done.

"I mean it! Even if this one isn't called Best Damn Thing. I think it's because we spent such a long time writing it. It's really diverse. The first two songs you've heard - the rest of the album is nothing like that. There's rock, piano songs, stripped down stuff... there's an electronic song called 'Hello Kitty,'" said Lavigne.

The singer said that she is a huge fan of Hello Kitty that is why she decided to write a song about the character. Initially, fans thought that "Hello Kitty" is about a woman's private part. However, Lavigne said that it is not even though the track is quite flirtatious and sexual.

Avril Lavigne Signs With BMG

Last year, Lavigne signed with BMG. Initially, she wanted to release her sixth studio album before 2017 ended, but she failed to do so. During an interview with Billboard, Lavigne said that she wants to write songs on topics she has never covered before.

"There's the love topic, but a lot of these songs are about life. I've experienced a lot over the past few years, and some of the songs just came to me. Concepts and lyrics were flowing and I would have to grab my phone to sing into voice memo and write out my lyrics," explained Lavigne.

Lavigne's other albums are Let Go, Under My Skin, Goodbye Lullaby, My World, and The Best Damn Thing.

Some of her most famous songs include "Complicated," "Girlfriend," "When You're Gone," "Sk8er Boi," "My Happy Ending," "What the Hell," "Wish You Were Here," "Nobody's Home," "Smile," "Don't Tell Me," and "Innocence."
