Rita Ora pays tribute to Avicii during her performance in the Netherlands. Her showcase took place during the King's Day celebration on Friday, April 27.

Before singing her hit song, "Lonely Together," Ora asked the crowd to stay silent for a minute to remember the Swedish musician. Ora and Avicii worked together on the song earlier this year.

"He changed my life, and he was a really good friend of mine. It's going to be very hard for me to sing this next song. We collaborated on the last song that he released together - can you all please join me in having a minute of silence... because he was one of my dearest friends," said Ora while holding back her tears.

Avicii's Cause Of Death

Avicii, whose real name is Tim Bergling, was found dead at a hotel in Muscat, Oman on April 20. He was 28. The official cause of his death has yet to be announced, but it seems that the details will be kept under wraps to accommodate his family's request.

"He really struggled with thoughts about meaning, life, happiness. He could not go on any longer. He wanted to find peace. Tim was not made for the business machine he found himself in; he was a sensitive guy who loves his fans but shunned the spotlight," read a statement from Avicii's family.

Police investigators previously declared that the DJ's autopsies confirmed that there was no evidence of foul play.

Swedish DJ Announced His Retirement

In 2016, Avicii announced his retirement from touring. Days after releasing a statement, he spoke with one publication and said that he was suffering from acute pancreatitis. In 2014, he also had his appendix removed.

He said that he did not have any problems with making music or touring in general, but he struggled with the other things that came with his fame.

"All the other parts of being an artist. I'm more of an introverted person in general. It was always very hard for me. I took on board too much negative energy, I think," said Avicii.

The DJ was also being mourned by his other friends from the industry, including Calvin Harris, Skrillex, and more.

Avicii will be remembered for his most popular songs "Wake Me Up," "Levels," "I Could Be the One," "Without You," "Waiting For Love," "Broken Arrows," "Silhouettes," and "Fade Into Darkness."
