Christina Aguilera Hints At 'Lotus' Follow-Up

Three years ago, Aguilera already hinted at her new album, but it did not materialize.

"[I have] loosely been working on my record for a couple of years now. It's like really down to business and I've made a lot of headway and progress on the record, and you will see sort of the difference between this record and others in the past," said Aguilera.

When asked about the album's release date, the singer said that it may be launched in 2016 or when she returns for the live episodes of The Voice. Unfortunately, it did not happen.

Christina Aguilera On 'Carpool Karaoke'

In related news, the former The Voice coach also made headlines when she joined James Corden on "Carpool Karaoke" last week. During her appearance, Aguilera sang some of her hit songs with the host of The Late Late Show With James Corden.

Aguilera and Corden were also joined by Melissa McCarthy, who proved that she can also sing. The funny woman had gotten off Corden's car before the episode wrapped up.

Singer's Take On Domestic Violence

The 37-year-old singer also opened up about her difficult childhood recently. She said that as a young girl, she witnessed domestic violence at home.

"I watched my mom have to be submissive, watch her Ps and Qs or she's gonna get beat up. You can either be, unfortunately, so damaged by it that you take a turn for the worse, or you can feel empowered by it and make choices to never go down that route," said the singer.

Aguilera also slammed those people who think others can easily escape abuse if they only wanted to. She said that people, especially women who are abused, suffer from psychological damage. The "Genie In A Bottle" singer added that abused individuals struggle to get out of toxic relationships.
