Devon Sawa, the original Stan, is "stanning" pop singer Christina Aguilera who went barefaced for the cover of Paper Magazine.

In a tweet, the actor who appeared on the popular music video in 2002, reacted to the photo of the 37-year-old mom of two. He simply said "wow."

However, this pronouncement of amazement immediately became viral, particularly because of the "Stan" connection.

To recall, the music video features Stan as a massive fan of Eminem whose story was told through a series of letters to the rapper. Frustrated and angry because he is not getting any response, he drives himself and his girlfriend into a river and presumably died in the end.

In the modern lingo, "stan" is a term used to describe a passionate fan of a celebrity.

While Sawa, who has appeared in several other movies and television including Final Destination and Nikita, does not look like he is about to drive off to a bridge with a photo of Aguilera on his dashboard, fans found the reaction amusing.

Love For Christina Aguilera

Since the magazine cover was revealed, the former The Voice coach has been receiving a lot of love from her fanbase. Many complimented the transformation.

Her new look is such a drastic change from her signature old Hollywood glam makeup and hair that people cannot stop talking about.

In her interview for Paper Magazine, Aguilera talked about her many transformations over the years. The singer hailed Madonna, another artist who keeps reinventing her style, as her inspiration.

"Either women are not sexual enough or we're not fulfilling enough of a fantasy for you, but then if we're overtly sexual or feeling empowered in a certain kind of way, then we're shamed for it," she said about her experience as a new musician in the past.

"Madonna had to go through it in her day, and she paved the way for my generation to come up. And paying it forward, now a younger generation is coming up and I'm loving what I'm seeing. It's so incredible."

Still In Love With Makeup

However, despite embracing her fresh new look, Aguilera is not steering away from her love of makeup. Last week, she appeared on an episode of RuPaul's Drag Race as a guest judge where she looked more like her old self in a long sparkly gown and old-Hollywood (pink!) hair and makeup.

In a new video, she met Season 9 contestant Farrah Moan.

"The first time I ever did makeup myself, everyone told me I looked like Christina Aguilera," said the queen. Watch the video below.
