Elton John made it to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding, and he treated 600 guests to a four-song performance on Saturday noon.

The musician sang "Your Song," "Circle of Life," "I'm Still Standing," and "Tiny Dancer."

Prior to his performance, Prince Harry asked the crowd if anyone could play the piano. Of course, the 33-year-old prince already asked John to play at his lunch reception beforehand. John immediately approached the piano at St. George's Hall and played his songs.

Following Saturday's star-studded nuptials, Kensington Palace released a statement regarding John's involvement at the reception. A rep for the palace also confirmed that Queen Elizabeth II hosted the lunch reception.

"Sir Elton performed for the newly married couple in recognition of the close connection he has with Prince Harry and his family," read the statement.

Elton John, Princess Diana's Friendship

John is good friends with Prince Harry's late mother, Princess Diana. Earlier this year, he revealed that he and Princess Diana had a falling out, but they reconciled following the death of their common friend, Gianni Versace, in 1997.

"I loved her because she did so much for AIDS and she was a great friend to me. We had our falling out, but we reconciled in the end. It was an extraordinary summer. Gianni Versace was murdered [on July 15, 1997], and then Diana rang me up and we reconciled," said John.

Six weeks after Versace's murder, Princess Diana died in a car crash in Paris. When John learned that the Princess of Wales died, he said he could not believe what just happened.

Singer Meets Prince Harry

John also recounted the first time he met Prince Harry at the Kensington Palace. He said that Princess Diana threw a party for him and Versace at that time.

The singer also described a young Prince Harry as "extremely shy and sweet."

Elton John Jokes About Not Getting An Invitation

A couple of months ago, reporters asked John if he would be attending the royal wedding. At the time, he said that he is yet to receive an invitation for the said event. Royal fans were confident that John would get an invite because he was also present at Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding in 2011.

During his interview in March, John joked that his invitation might have gotten lost in the mail.
