Snoop Dogg is planning to bring battle rap to this October's BET Hip-Hop Awards. In an Instagram post yesterday, the rapper announced big plans with Total Slaughter winner Murda Mook.

In the clip, Snoop puffs on a joint before telling his fans, "Me and my n***a Murda Mook fitting to come at you with something real big for the hip-hop battle scene. Be on the lookout."

He clarified his statement in a later post, addressing Mook directly.

"Yo Mook, I don't think they heard us," he says. "We about to do the something real big for the Hip-Hop battle scene. I'm hosting the BET Hip-Hop Awards again this year, but I got something real special planned this time."

Snoop was invited back as a host after last year's ratings were so high (see what we did there?). The awards are currently schedule to air October 15.

According to Hot New Hip-Hop, Snoop also reached out to several battle rappers on Twitter, asking for their contact information.

The news comes weeks after Total Slaughter's inaugural battle rap event in New York City. Mook was crowned the event's first victor.
