Fans of the 2002 teen movie "A Walk To Remember" flocked to Mandy Moore's Instagram Live stream and heard "Only Hope" again after so many years, last Sunday evening, April 5.

Together with her husband, Dawes frontman Taylor Goldsmith, Mandy Moore delivered an emotional rendition of the hit ballad from the 2002 flick. As Goldsmith played his acoustic guitar, Moore sounded just like she did when she first released "Only Hope."

She admitted during her mini home concert that the last time she performed this song was shortly after the release of "A Walk to Remember" almost 20 years ago when she toured in the Philippines.

"Only Hope" was originally recorded by the rock band Switchfoot for their album "New Way to be Human," released in 1999. The song, however, earned mainstream recognition due to Moore's performance as the film's lead, Jamie Sullivan, during the movie's climax. "Only Hope" is special even among Mandy Moore fans; it was her first hit in a film in which she starred. She also won awards as the best breakthrough actress in both the MTV Movie Awards as well as the Teen Choice Awards in 2002.

Her fans quickly flooded the IG Live with comments of nostalgia and aspiration, often filled with different emojis. After the couple's online performance ended, fans then took to Twitter to express love to the song as well as the artists who brought it back for them.

After the Instagram performance that left fans in tears, Moore and Goldsmith paid tribute to legendary country singer-songwriter John Prine, who had to be rushed into the hospital after a sudden onset of COVID-19 symptoms. As of March 30, Prine is already "stable," multiple sources report.

Last November, Mandy Moore announced going on a tour this year to promote her seventh studio album, "Silver Landings." It would be her first tour after her 2009 tour in support of her previous studio album, "Amanda Leigh." Unfortunately, her "Silver Landings" tour, with a supposed first stop on March 20, was among the music events canceled due to the mounting coronavirus risks.

Mandy Moore also said that when her North American tour commences, fans may get the chance to hear "Only Hope" again, explaining that they plan to fold the hit single in her tour although she admitted that they "hadn't quite figured out the right arrangement for it."

Aside from releasing six studio albums, Moore has also appeared in several movies after her breakthrough role as Jamie Sullivan in "A Walk to Remember." She starred in "The Princess Diaries," "Racing Stripes," "License to Wed," and "Midway." She also voiced Rapunzel in the Disney animated film "Tangled," as well as its spinoffs "Tangled Ever After," "Tangled: Before Ever After," and "Tangled: The Series."

Her TV appearances include playing Rebecca Pearson in the NBC series "This Is Us" since 2016. She earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress and Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead in a Drama Series.
