Four years after "Glory" hit the stores, Britney Spears will be releasing "Mood Ring" on all streaming at exactly midnight Friday, May 29.

"Mood Ring" was a bonus track on Britney's 2016 album, but only on the Japanese release. Before the track hits the streaming services, she has already uploaded a copy of the track on her YouTube page, accompanied by a new cover art.

"Look in the mirror/ Who do I see?/ Who do I wanna be today?" Britney wonders at the start of the song. The song hears the timeless pop icon declare, "My love is a mood ring/ Up and down emotions." The revealing electro-pop track is backed up by an eerily inviting beat courtesy of DJ Mustard.

Britney Spears already made an announcement in a now-deleted Tweet, captured by Twitter handle @BritneyHiatus, one of the artist's fan accounts.

The same twitter account has also kept a close watch on "Mood Ring" as it is unveiled all over the world. It announced that Britney would officially release the bonus track, noting that it was already out in Australia and New Zealand. The post included promotional images and cover art for the single.

Aside from releasing a surprise track, Britney Spears has been busy in the middle of quarantine, staying mostly at her home in Louisiana. She has been engaged in regular workout sessions via FaceTime with her boyfriend, Sam Asghari. In an interview with E! News, Asghari said, "When we were not together, it was just like when I was on a project or away from her/"

While Britney had to endure staying away from his fitness model and trainer he pair have been reunited and have been staying healthy together. The pair went cycling and played tennis together, to which Asghari said of the singer: "I think she's trained before to be a professional tennis player. That's how good she is. She's a natural athlete."

First released on August 26, 2016, by RCA Records, "Glory" marked Spears' ninth studio album. It was released to positive critical reception, with music journalists praising not just her vocal performance, but also her involvement in all aspects of the project. It debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and topped the charts in other countries such as Ireland, Italy, and the Czech Republic.

The release of "Glory" was preceded by its lead single, "Make Me...," in July 2016 and followed by "Slumber Party" in November.

Karen Kwak, who served as the executive producer of the album, said in a New York Post interview that the artist wanted songs that "were fresh and unexpected this time." She recalled never having an instant where the Louisiana-native received a track with anyone saying that it was a hit and that she had to sing it. Kwak also credited Spears for coming up with the melodies and concepts used in the album.

"Glory" also spawned the mature tracks "Private Show" and "Do You Wanna Come Over?" Spears even punctuated the album with the "Coupure Électrique," which she performed all in French.
