Robbie Williams revealed in an interview that he and his wife Ayda Field received threats to have them beheaded in Haiti, the singer recalls in an interview.

The former Take That member shared the frightening incident on Ayda Field's latest "Postcards from the Edge" episode. In the podcast, Williams said: "I got threatened to be beheaded in Haiti. We were going out there to help.

Williams was referring to their 2010 visit to Haiti together with Unicef for relief operation. The Caribbean country experienced a 7.0 magnitude earthquake that left 1.5 million people without homes and about 250,000 people dead.

The "She's The One" hitmaker added that he was like: "Should we go to the next street then? And, looking back, it was scary."

Ayda Field, the American actress and podcast host responded that she was with her husband. "I too was being threatened to be beheaded as well."

Williams then discussed what he witnessed in the aftermath of the massive earthquake. He recounted walking around Jacmel, a commune in southern Haiti, and said that "it's hard to explain in words." The Robster said: "it's a whole different league from what I had imagined I would see."

He added that what he saw was almost unbelievable, likening it to a movie set. The 46-year-old artist recalled, "cars completely crushed - some still poking out from underneath the buildings that have fallen on top of them."

Robbie Williams' Charity Works

The singer-songwriter has always been active in charitable works. Just last May, he rejoined his former groupmates from Take That for a virtual fundraiser. The British pop group behind "Back for Good" for the one-time show. Take That worked with the BGL Group, a financial organization behind the campaign "Compare the Market."

Robbie Williams and Take That raised funds for charitable institutions Nordoff Robbins and Crew Nation. Nordoff Robbins is the biggest independent music therapy nonprofit in the UK. Meanwhile, Crew Nation raises funds for concert workers displaced because of postponed and canceled events.

Back in 2000, The Robster teamed up with the British charity Comic Relief to set up the "Give It Sum" initiative. His drive aims to "improve local conditions and strengthen community life by giving money to those who are disadvantaged." A 2004 article from BBC said that "Give It Sum" has helped more than 120 projects in his native Stoke-on-Trent, in North Staffordshire, extending more than £2 million in the process.

Ayla Field first gained fame in her starring role in the US series "Days of Our Lives." Ayda Field and Williams began dating in 2006 after being set up on a blind date. After more than three years, in August 2010, the two got married on Williams' Mulholland Estates in Beverly Hills. Family and friends witnessed the marriage.

Since then, the pair has had four children: first, a girl Teddy in 2012 and son Charlie in 2014. They followed it with a second daughter, Coco, born last 2018. Their youngest son, Beau, was born earlier this year.
