"Not the Thermometer Challenge" by Stunt N Dozier is going viral on TikTok. The #Thermometerchallenge is taking over the app by storm and currently has over 50 million views.

Charli D'Amelio, Justin Maiko, Lizzo, and other popular TikTok influencers even joined in on the fun. D'Amelio is the top influencer with over 83 million followers.

The challenge involves some popping dance moves that seem complicated at first. The thermometer dance puts more emphasis on leg work with some subtle and natural hand movements. The dancer kicks forward and sideward while inserting some steps/taps, slides, and twists. Some participants make the dance unique by putting variations or freestyles that they came up on their own.

This challenge was made by Jaired Bairefield, known as "Sheafreak4jb1" on Tik Tok and "Sheafreak4jb" on Instagram.

The "Not the Thermometer" track was produced by Fast Life Entertainment, and it featured talented artists like Miami rapper Dej Rosegold, Haitian singer Qwote, and Memphis rapper Kingpin Skinny Pimp.

The track's chorus is catchy and makes anyone wants to dance. Additionally, Dej Rosegold and Kingpin Skinny Pimp rapping brought more attitude to the song while Qwote smooth singing made the track flow. All these elements combined were probably the reasons why the thermometer song, as well as the challenge that came with it, became viral. Additionally, the song was licensed by NBC and will make an appearance in the comedy show "Sketchy Times."

Besides SoundCloud and YouTube, TikTok is fast becoming a platform for up-and-coming artists to try their shot at stardom. This phenomenon is most likely amplified to quarantine, where everyone is holed up in their own homes with nothing better to do.

Laxen (SIREN BEAT) by Jawsh 685 was another dance trend that hit 2020. Influencers dress in their cultural outfits to do the TikTok challenge for the song. The sample was already huge before Jason Derulo remixed it into the "Savage Love" song. At first, the singer-songwriter was not able to get permission from the music producer. Fortunately, both parties were able to come up to an agreement in the end.
