What better way to celebrate the holidays than to raise money for charity? Ed Sheeran raised more than 50,000 Pounds for his hometown school.

A charity raffle for a prototype guitar constructed for Ed Sheeran to commemorate the release of his latest album raised £52,765 for a good cause.

With the help of Northern Ireland-based guitar maker George Lowden, the guitar was designed to incorporate symbolism from his most recent album "=".

The custom-made guitar features a maple inlay at the seventh fret, a butterfly inlay motif at the truss rod cover and neck heel cap, and an edition internal label created specifically for him.

The charity and its beneficiaries

A Smart music pod and disabled access facilities will be installed at Sir Robert Hitcham's CEVA School in Framlingham as a result of this Sheeran's donation.

Tickets were priced at £5 and were sold in over 160 countries worldwide, totaling 10,553 ticket sales.

Hospital worker Kellie Myers and her two young sons from Ipswich, who are now learning to play the guitar, were the lucky winners of the auction.

GeeWizz will distribute the remaining funds to other programs that benefit learning challenged and neurodivergent children in Suffolk and the surrounding areas.

The English singer has also donated three signed Ipswich Town Football Club 2021-22 home shirts for the runners-up in the raffle. These went to Rossignol Sylvien from France, Chris Knox from Essex, and Justin Tate from Canada.

Myers, who won the auction, said they were "thrilled and delighted to have won." She added that her two sons have been learning to play the guitar for a couple of years.

The Myers have also adored Ed, saying they wanted to support the singer because it supported their community and local charities.
