Czech singer Hana Horka had died after purposedly contracting COVID-19 so she could gain a health pass, her family said.

Horka's son, Jan Rek, detailed how his mother exposed herself to the virus when her vaccinated husband and son caught the dreaded disease before Christmas. She reportedly did so in order to have a health pass that would have allowed her to be in public venues that require proof of vaccination or recent recovery from COVID-19.

In order to live her life without restrictions again without receiving the vaccine, Horka reportedly normally lived with them and preferred to catch the virus rather than get vaccinated.

Two days before her death, the 57-year-old crooner still celebrated her reported survival from COVID-19.

"I survived ... It was intense. So now there will be the theatre, sauna, a concert ... and an urgent trip to the sea," she wrote, as quoted by The Guardian.

On Sunday, she tragically died after saying she felt better. She even dressed to go for a walk, but she was stopped by her hurting back that led her to lie down in her bedroom.

Jan Rek then said that, after 10 minutes, his mother choked to death.

Jan Rek noted that, while his mother was unvaccinated, Horka did not believe in bizarre theories about COVID-19 vaccines.

"Her philosophy was that she was more OK with the idea of catching Covid than getting vaccinated. Not that we would get microchipped or anything like that," he said.

He added that they could not discuss the issue with her further as things would just get more emotional. With Horka's passing, Jan Rek asked everyone to convince others to get vaccinated.

At that same time, Jan Rek revealed he knows exactly who influenced his mother and led her to contract the disease deliberately. Per the son, it makes him sad that his mother believed in strangers more than her family about the natural immunity and antibodies that could be acquired through infection.

Currently, Czech announced more than 20,000 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday alone. Around 63 percent of its total population already received their vaccines.

Hana Horka's family has not revealed any details about her funeral or if they would hold a tribute event for the late singer.
