Fans have continuously loved the Coldplay and BTS interaction for the past months following their Billboard Hot 100 topping hit collaboration, "My Universe," and Chris Martin has something to say about the boys, too!

The British band's frontman Chris Martin recently appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," which was also published on the talk show's official YouTube channel on Wednesday, January 26.

And during his visit, he gushed about his love for the South Korean group, even months after their smash hit collaboration, American Music Awards performance, and a surprise appearance in "Permission to Dance On Stage."

Behind 'My Universe'

Martin discussed with Ellen DeGeneres how the track was made. "Someone said to me, 'BTS asked you to do a song with them. ... At the time, I was like, 'That's never going to work, ever. How are we going to fit these two things together?'" the Coldplay singer told the host.

"Then the idea started to seem really attractive in its weirdness," the "Fix You" hitmaker added. "And then one day the right song arrived and I just knew at time, 'OK, this is the song I'm supposed to do with BTS."

Martin continued, "and it's supposed to be about people who can't be together or told they shouldn't be together or forced to live in separate places.' Then it felt really natural."

Coldplay as BTS' Gym Teachers?

"It's quite a bizarre ..." the Coldplay vocalist pointed at the screen showing their photo with the seven-membered group from their American Music Awards appearance. "We look like their gym teachers, but we love them," he joked.

"For something that could have seemed so artificial, it turned out being one of the most real feelings. We genuinely love those people."

According to Billboard, "My Universe" was successful for both groups. The song became a part of Coldplay's studio album "Music of Spheres," which earned a No. 1 spot on the Hot 100 chart, becoming BTS' third No.1 single on the chart in 2021 right after "Butter" doing a baton pass to "Permission to Dance."

The collaboration was also Coldplay's second song, following 2008's "Viva La Vida."

Chris Martin also talked about his experience of visiting South Korea for the collaboration. When DeGeneres asked him if he had ever been there before the single, the singer shared that he only went there for a concert, meeting Psy, and then the members of BTS in their company.
