Fans are excited that Kanye West is officially releasing his "DONDA" 2, and apparently, there is a reason why the rapper decided to release it in February.

The Chicago rapper released the first "Donda" in August 2021, after missing several planned release dates at least months and weeks prior.

The Grammy-award-winning celebrity recently released what seemed to be the album's cover art of his new album, showing his childhood residence on the south side of Chicago on fire. The house also had a date stamped in the middle, which read, "2 22 22."

The Significance

The Yeezy creator then posted a follow-up photo regarding the release date, which explained its significance, teasing America's "spiritual makeover." The attached image read, "According to the stars, the United States is finally getting a spiritual makeover with its first-ever Pluto Return on Feb. 22, 2022."

"Astrologically, a Pluto return is when the heavenly body returns to the same position in a birth chart where it was when the chart began," it continued.

The post was followed by another in his Instagram story, showing an edited house, with "Shooters inside my crib" written at the bottom.

As per The Sun, Ye is also expected to have enough references to his romance with ex-wife Kim Kardashian.

The first "Donda" also had a surprise release back in August. According to one report, West touched on different material during live shows before the release of his album. He even complained back then, "UNIVERSAL PUT MY ALBUM OUT WITHOUT MY APPROVAL. AND THEY BLOCKED JAIL 2 FROM BEING ON THE ALBUM."

The 44-year-old referred to his one song blocked by his label which featured Marilyn Manson and DaBaby, who were controversial at that time.

But despite the situation it went through, on its first full-day release, his studio album earned over 60 million streams in the United States.

Before announcing its sequel, outlets had already reported that the rapper was done working on his next music release.

The chief operating officer of G.O.O.G Music one said in an interview, "Ye has started working on his new masterpiece, 'Donda 2.'"

This new release from Kanye West will become his eleventh album in his entire discography while also becoming the first sequel.
