Drake White officially stepped on the stage after facing a health scare, and he hopes his return would be long-term.

The music industry still has a lot to offer to White, a 38-year-old singer who has been making massive contributions to the country music industry. However, the singer recently opened up about his fate and how his current health almost triggered the end of his career.

Speaking on the latest episode of PEOPLE's Every Day podcast, White said he recently started working after learning he would not walk again. As of press time, he leads his new shows alongside Whiskey Myers.

"We're out there touring, and this is what I love to do. I love being out here and being on stage," he said. "And the fact that there were people that said that I may never perform again, it's just so life-giving to be out here."

After surviving his recent health scare, White reportedly sees his live show in a new way with a lot of energy. Compared before, his tours now reportedly have a lot of hope and passion.

White promised his fans to continue touring through the spring and summer, and he hopes he would be doing it until his last day.

What Happened to Drake White?

White shared his honest thoughts after the singer learned about his scary diagnosis.

In 2019, the "Livin' the Dream" singer almost fainted on stage during his concert series in Roanoke, Virginia. At that time, his bandmate quickly caught him when he began to stumble.

After the incident, he revealed that he had been facing an arteriovenous malformation (AVM) for months. The illness is caused by an abnormal tangle of arteries and veins in a patient's brain, disrupting normal blood flow in the system.

"It was basically stealing blood from my brain," he said at that time. "The neurologist told me that I should be thankful it was caught in time, because it could have caused a stroke."

White could not feel his body parts on the left side and had to relearn how to walk again afterward. Fortunately, his wife, Alex, became a huge part of his recovery. She reportedly helped him physically move his leg until his brain began to think about learning again.

White turned that dark experience into an inspiration to his new album, "The Optimystic." At the end of the interview, he revealed that the album is the result of him pushing through challenges.
