The Blues Hall of Fame is back and it's bigger than ever as this year's inductees cover more than 50 years of released music and iconic musicians who have contributed legendary tracks in the industry.
According to Billboard, this year's induction will happen in conjunction with the Blues Music Awards and International Blues Challenge Week.
Little Willie John, popularly known for singing the original version of "Fever" in 1956, is set to be inducted, as well as his co-writer, John Davenport AKA Otis Blackwell.
Aside from the iconic track mentioned above, Blackwell is also known for writing a few classic hits for Elvis Presley like "All Shook Up" and "Don't Be Cruel."
Aside from some of the biggest names in Blues music, the induction will also include several albums, singles, and a book.
Among this year's honoree is Bo Diddley's self-titled record which was released in 1958. It contains 12 of the singer's most iconic tracks under Chess Records.

The songs receiving an honor this year are "Good Rockin' Tonight" by Roy Brown (1947), Sonny Boy Williamson II's "Eyestight to the Blind" (1951), "Rock Me Baby" by B.B. King (1964), "Farther Up the Road" by Bobby "Blue" Bland (1957) and Baby Face Leroy Trio's "Rollin' and Tumblin" (1950).
The only book that made it to this year's induction is literature titled "Red River Blues: The Blues Tradition in the Southeast" by Bruce Bastin.
The Blues Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held at the Halloran Centre in Memphis on May 4. The event will be in conjunction with the Blues Music Awards and International Blues Challenge week.
According to the Blues Foundation's official website, this is the first time the event will welcome a physical audience after two years as the 2022 inductee was forced to be canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to this year's inductees, they will also honor the 2020 lineup of honorees which includes Billy Branch, Syl Johnson, Betty LaVette, Eddie Boyd, Raph Peer, Victoria Spivey, George "Harmonica" Smith, and many more.
A cocktail reception will begin at 5:30 p.m. featuring the BHOF Inductees and Blues Music Awards nominees, which will be followed by the formal ceremonies by 6:30 p.m. at the Halloran Theatre.
