Sandra McKenzie was allegedly stabbed several times by his neighbor.

In a terrible attack last year under lockdown, the former 90s pop diva was reportedly stabbed 49 times by murderer neighbor who also killed his own wife.

Per the Daily Record, Stephen Allum assaulted the Scottish vocalist, a member of Goldbug, the band that popularized "Whole Lotta Love," when they lived next door to each other in Oxford, UK, she was afraid.

The 63-year-old claimed she became "friends" with her next-door neighbor, who allegedly asked her to supper but kept putting it off.

They used to meet in his garden when he went for a cigarette, she recalled.

Sandra ultimately gave in and accepted his offer in January of last year, but she had no clue what would happen to her once she entered her neighbor's home.

The singer said, "It was a scary experience. He was strangling me, and I could feel the life draining from my body."

Sandra went on to say that she feared she was going to die, especially after sustaining around 50 knife wounds in Stephen's back yard.

The former pop diva, who dated Prince earlier, also stated, "The moment I turned around, he grabbed my throat and dragged me out to the back yard, where he threw me on the ground. He was strangling me and striking me in the face. He continued to stab me in the chest."

Her next-door neighbor, who was granted a hospital order over 25 years ago for murdering his wife, was sentenced to life in prison last year after confessing to attempting to murder Sandra McKenzie.

The "You Must Believe In Spring" singer was bedridden for eight months and continues to struggle from health concerns more than a year later.

Sandra also stated that she need a walking frame and feels every inch of pain when she places any weight on the leg that was wounded when she was stabbed.

She did, however, admit that she was relieved her assailant had been imprisoned because the police allegedly described the "attack" as one of the "most savage attacks" they had ever seen.

Sandra also stated that everytime she walks out her front door and sees him standing at his door, she is reminded of the attack.

However, the singer is attempting to leave the flat she is now residing in because she cannot bear being reminded of the tragedy she witnessed every day.
