Days after Kanye West's reps confirmed that he and Travis Scott would not be performing at the upcoming Coachella Festival, the latter has seemingly erected Billboards around California hinting at the release of his upcoming album.

Travis Scott 'Utopia' Billboards in California

Travis Scott's fans have spotted four billboards around I-10 in California (in a direction going away from the Coachella grounds in Indio).

The billboards include one with the rapper's Cactus Jack Logo, a "PSSST," one aks "Looking for UTOPIA?," while the last one says "WRONG WAY."

"Utopia" is reported to be the title of Scott's fourth studio album, which was eventually delayed because of the controversies he has been dealing with for the past few months.

These billboards may be targetting Coachella festivalgoers who had clamored for Scott's re-inclusion in the roster after he was removed last December.

Travis Scott in Coachella 2022: Timeline Explained

Travis Scott was initially announced to headline this year's Coachella Festival last 2020 along with Rage Against The Machines and Frank Ocean.

However, in November 2021, Travis Scott's infamous Astroworld festival happened. The tragic stampede claimed the lives of ten attendees, left hundreds injured, and a $750 million lawsuit against Scott and the concert organizers.

Days after the tragedy took place, a petition campaign was launched online urging Coachella to drop the rapper from the roster. The petition garnered over 60,000 signatures.

Coachella eventually dropped Travis Scott on the headline in December without fully disclosing the reason why, but according to Variety this is largely because of the ongoing investigation (where the FBI is now involved) and those lives lost at the festival.

A month after, Travis Scott's good friend Kanye West was announced as the new headliners for the 2022 Coachella Music and Arts Festival along with Billie Eilish and Harry Styles.

With Kanye already in the bill, he has hinted that he might be bringing Travis Scott into his own set as a surprise for Coachella attendees and those fans who wanted to see Scott after the Astroworld incident.

Organizers have never confirmed the inclusion of Scott in the upcoming festival.

But, weeks after his announcement, Kanye has launched a concerning number of online attacks and threats against SNL comedian Pete Davidson because of his current relationship with his estranged wife, Kim Kardashian.

Kanye's "concerning" online behavior has also had him barred from performing at the GRAMMYs 2022 despite receiving various nominations.

Ye took home two GRAMMYs last weekend. Days after, Variety reported that he and Travis Scott will no longer be performing at the Coachella as they have not yet rehearsed a set for the festival.

Kanye was eventually replaced by The Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia as headliners.

The Coachella Music and Arts Festival will take place on Apr. 15, 2022, and will end on Apr. 24, 2022, at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
