It's been two years since Playboi Carti last released an album, and fans can't wait for him to drop new music. In a rare interview, the rapper gave his listeners an insight into what his upcoming record is all about.

Speaking to XXL Magazine, the "Whole Lotta Red" hitmaker was asked about the topics he will be tackling in his upcoming project.

The rapper revealed that he would be using "Love, Sex, and Drugs" as one of the inspirations for the album.

Playboi Carti then shared an unexpected thing that he's been rapping, saying he's writing songs about going to rehab because of his mental health issues.

"I've been rapping about going to rehab. I want to go to rehab because I think I'm bipolar," he said.

Describing the vibe of the album titled "Music," the rapper said he wanted the record to make everyone "feel free" and bring peace to the world.

It appears that Carti enjoys his work and craft as a musician as he's "in love" with what he's doing.

Explaining why he's making music, the rapper clarified that he's not making it for money but rather for a legacy that would last forever.

"I got a lot of people that I got to take care of so I'm here, forever. So, the music that I'm making is forever," he added.

When asked what he meant about "changing the world," Carti said he wanted to create new sounds, waves, and movements; he said he never addressed it directly that way because it sounds "cocky."

As of this writing, Playboi Carti has not publicly revealed his upcoming record's release date, collaborations, and album art.

Amid Kanye West's "Donda" listening parties, Carti was spotted at one of the events, leading the interviewer to ask him about his relationship with the musician.

Carti said the "Famous" hitmaker is a big brother and friend to him as they talk every day despite their differences.

He added that he sees himself in him, and he's sure West feels the same.

Even though he doesn't have "too many friends," he considers the musician as one of his constant friendships, as well as A$AP Rocky.
