Danish indie-pop band Liss has announced that they will be releasing their first album almost a year after frontman Søren Holm's death.
According to NME, the band has remained silent since the singer passed away due to suicide last May, but they went back on social media to make a surprising announcement.
Taking to their official Instagram account, the band shared a photo of Holm along with a lengthy statement, saying they had just finished a record, which was ready for release before their bandmate passed away.
"Writing our debut album has been a constant since we started Liss seven years ago," they added.
Liss clarified that they asked their late co-member's family the blessing and encouragement to share new music over the coming months.
"These are songs that we have been working on for many years and that we have dreamed of releasing since we started Liss," the band continued.
Speaking about Holm's death, the band revealed they're still having difficulty processing what happened. The frontman was described as "an incredibly loving person who cared a lot about others."
They also wished Holm had told them what he felt so that they could help him at the time.

"The consequences of suicide are indescribably tough for those who are left behind. Losing a loved one in that way is not something we will ever get over. It is something you have to live with for the rest of your life," the statement continued.
Concluding the post, the band told fans that they are not alone and should speak to someone whenever they have suicidal thoughts.
At the time of this writing, a release date for their album has not been announced yet, but they are set to drop two new singles from the record titled "Country F***boy" and "Exist."
Frontman Søren Holm passed away at the age of 25 last May 25. He died of suicide.
In a previous statement, Liss described the singer as the "sweetest, funniest, most beautiful human being" who was always there as a friend.
The band met in high school and started playing in 2014. They released their two-track record titled "Try/Always" in 2015.
They later signed with XL and released their debut EP for the record label titled "First."
