Kimberley Walsh has stated that Girls Aloud is 'not ready to return to the stage yet' following Sarah Harding's death.

The West End diva confessed that she, Cheryl Tweedy, Nadine Coyle, and Nicola Roberts had no immediate plans to play together in the wake of their bandmate Sarah's death from breast cancer last September at the age of 39.

Kimberley made her remarks during a Wednesday appearance on BBC's Morning Live.

After co-host Gethin Jones inquired about any surprises planned for their forthcoming fundraising special, Kimberley, 40, stated, "I feel like I need to clear this up a little bit." She added, "There won't be a reunion as such, we're not going to be getting back on stage. We still don't feel ready to get back on stage without Sarah."

This is not the first time that the group denied a reunion.

Kimberley ruled off a Biology girl band reunion in October 2021, stating that they were not in 'that mentality right now" following Sarah's death.

'With the situation as it is, that's not anything the band has been considering, she explained. Nobody is even in that mental state at the momen, she clarified.

Kimberley's comments about the band, which was established in 2002 on the reality singing show Popstars: The Rivals and went on to achieve massive chart success, came after Nadine stated they were 'organizing an event to raise money in honor of Sarah'.

"She's very much in the forefront of our minds. We want to raise money for a piece of medical equipment that helps diagnose cancer earlier so people can be treated," Nadine, 36, told OK! magazine

She clarified that the group certainly wants to do something to help others, but a reunion performance just might not be it.

Nadine noted that even seven months after Sarah's death, her death continues to 'have a profound effect on them."

Kimberley also previously told MailOnline in February that there were no immediate plans for a reunion.

She said it is incredible that the group is approaching 20 years, and she's sure there will be plenty of reminiscing on their part as a group, but she does not feel the group is in the right frame of mind to do a reunion.
