Beyoncé is nominated for awards in eight categories at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards - the most out of any artist this year. But even if she goes home empty handed, it will still be a big night for the "Drunk In Love" singer.

As The Hollywood Reporter notes, the 32-year-old singer will receive MTV's Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, which honors an artist's body of work. Past Video Vanguard recipients include Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Beastie Boys, Madonna, and Michael Jackson, for whom the award was renamed in 1991.

What's more: She is also set to perform at the ceremony, which broadcasts live from the Forum in Inglewood, California at 9 p.m. EST on August 24.

Beyoncé's nominations include Video of the Year for "Drunk in Love," Best Female, Best Collaboration, Best Video with a Social Message, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Choreography, and Best Direction.

The singer surprised the world last year when she dropped her self-titled album with 17 short films and 14 songs without any prior warning or promotion.

Since her time singing in Destiny's Child, Queen Bey has earned 11 VMA trophies, including Video of The Year for "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" in 2009 and Best Female for "Crazy in Love" in 2007, Rolling Stone reports.

Over the years, some of her memorable VMA performances have included "Ring the Alarm" in 2006, "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" in 2009, and "Love on Top" in 2011, when she revealed she was expecting her first baby with Jay Z.
