TIME Magazine has released its annual list of Most Influential People of the Year.

This 2022, among the hundred selected on the coveted list, seven are musicians and singers who have shown tremendous power in music - both in singing and in influence and grit.

Huge guest contributors have penned short anecdotes on the honorees, which were recognized for their influence on their respective industries, field, or as a whole.

7 Singers/Musicians Who Are in the Time 100 Most Influential People of 2022

Ariana Debose

Recently hailed as this year's Oscar Best Supporting Actress for her outstanding performance as "Anita" in Stephen Spielberg's modern adaptation of "West Side Story," Ariana Debose finds herself on the list. With a Kristin Chenoweth penned testament, the Tony-winning actress lauded DeBose as the first openly queer woman of Color who won an Academy Award for acting. "I think she'll one day win an EGOT," she wrote.

Adele

With the massive release of her latest album, Adele really solidified her mark on the music industry through singing our deepest heartbreaks. In James Corden's words, Adele "sings for us," as she is an artist in the purest sense of the word.

Adele's moving vocals and lyricism make her one of the music industry's greatest treasures - that is why the Late Night Show host is rallying to protect her as best we can.

Jazmine Sullivan

After receiving rave reviews from her most recent effort, "Heaux Tales," Jazmine Sullivan's work represented more than her feelings, or what Amber Riley described as Sullivan's "journal." Riley added that this perfectly captured the stories of so many Black women.

For Riley, Jazmine was deserving of all the honor that she has been receiving as she inspires not only ordinary black women but also huge people like Olivier-winning theatre singer Amber Riley.

Jon Batiste

Jon Batiste was a recent revelation to the world after his massive win at the recent Grammys.

From being the bandleader of Stephen Colbert to winning an Oscar and five Gramophones, Quincy Jones described Batiste as someone down to earth. With his New Orleans roots, the funk and music inside Batiste easily transcend to music, which GRAMMY-winning producer Quincy Jones is excited about what's to come for the young artist.

Mary J. Blige

The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul, Mary J. Blige, has been a trailblazer in the music industry.

Being one of the first few female hip-hop icons, Blige made every young black woman feel seen. Like how Nas put it: "She's who we wanted her to be, and even more. She became who she's supposed to be."

The GRAMMY-winning artist pointed out why Blige received the biggest screams last Super Bowl Halftime Performance Show - she's the only woman in a band full of men.

Miranda Lambert

Elle King looked up to Country Icon Miranda Lambert because of all the right reasons.

Considering her years in the industry, Lambert has established herself as one of the modern pillars of Country music. And for a newcomer like King, it is unlikely that someone with such revere to share her stage with a new generation of artists - a thing that Lambert did in 2019.

Questlove

Like Batiste, Questlove was also a bandleader on a late-night show.

His work with Jimmy Fallon is what made the latter's show iconic to date, and the host has not forgotten about this. He is a testament to Questlove's amazing creativity - which brought the musical director not only a Sundance but also a BAFTA and a Critics Choice, but also an Oscar for his documentary, "Summer of Soul."
