Concerns about disbandment have risen shortly after Parkway Drive canceled the string of their North American Tour 2022 a few weeks ago.

Despite posting a hefty statement to tell the reason for the cancellation, fans are quite skeptical what the real reason behind the halt on their North American tour.

Parkway Drive's REAL Reason On Why They Canceled Their North American Tour 2022

In a Twitter post dated April 7, the Australian metalcore band shocked their fan base in the United States with a new announcement regarding their upcoming tour on the continent.

"It has been a wild ride, but over those years, the relentless nature of being in this band has given us very little time to reflect on who we are as individuals, who we want to be, and the toll it is taking on ourselves and our friendships. It has always been 100% commitment or nothing. We feel the limit has been reached, and we don't want to f*ck this up,' the previous statement reads.

While the band obviously attributes the reason for the cancellation to be purely personal, some fans feel the statement was vague and hinting a sense of internal disagreement.

But in a new announcement, Parkway Drive clarified where they actually stand on the matter.

Is Parkway Drive Really Disbanding?

Noting how they have been touring "non-stop" for the past 17 years, Parkway Drive, just like the rest of the world, experienced some particularly hard times in the last few years because of the global pandemic.

While they channel themselves into other creative tracks, the band has realized the impact that the pandemic has brought them.

"Mental health is an ever present issue within our society and we are no exception. As touring started back up, we found ourselves at a crossroads. Continue down the same path, risk more damage and more than likely destroy the band and ourselves, or take the time needed to do the work on ourselves and heal," the band says.

The five-piece band also clarified that despite their mental health becoming the main priority now - they are, for the record, were "here to stay."

This recent pronouncement squashes allegations that the band will be disbanding soon.

Despite this, the band will still push through with their European Tour in the remainder of the year, starting September 2022 in Leipzig, Germany.
