Kesha once told Ryan Seacrest that she spent "sexy time" with a ghost and while that story raised a few eyebrows, she's out to prove her uncanny ability to see these supernatural beings with her new Discovery+ series. Is the singer saying goodbye to her music career and focusing on television/ghost-hunting in the meantime?

The singer will soon be seen in the show "Conjuring Kesha," wherein she's tasked to investigating some uncanny and skin-raising phenomena.

On Thursday, the streaming service revealed that the "Praying" singer will star with other celebrities in a six-episode series about exploring the unexplained and paranormal. It is released in early July.

"To me, the supernatural comes naturally," she said in a press release. "It started with my insatiable curiosity, my eternal searching for something bigger than myself. This has motivated my art, informed my music and has given a purpose to my entire life. It's an eternal search for proof of God."

Whitney Cummings will investigate demonic activity at Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary, Bachelorette's Jojo Fletcher will search for Bigfoot, and Betty Who will investigate a haunted opera house.

"It's the adventures that I have with my friends that take these pilgrimages to the next level and make them a reality," she said. "I wanted to catch actual proof of the unexplainable. If we could catch these things on camera, then what else could be true?"

The singer stated in 2012 that her song "Supernatural" was inspired by this American Horror Story-like encounter involving her sex with a ghost. She told Ryan Seacrest that she was not aware of his name, but he was actually a recepter. She added that her album "Warrior" featured many strange topics, including having sex with a ghost, getting hypnotized, and exploring past lives.

The launch of the first two episodes of "Conjuring Kesha" is around the corner. It's on July 8.

In 2009, Kesha's career took off, and she adopted the stage name Ke$ha. She appeared on Flo Rida's No. 1 song "Right Round" and later on her own No. 1 single "Tik Tok," which spent nine weeks at the top spot. This resulted in the publication of her debut album, "Animal," which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Its four songs all peaked in the top ten in the United States, and the album has subsequently become one of the best-selling female artist albums.

Alongside Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, Kesha became a household name in popular culture.

The EP "Cannibal," which also spawned the No. 1 song "We R Who We R," furthered her huge triumph.

In 2012, her second studio album, "Warrior," produced the No. 2-charting song "Die Young."

The 2013 release of "Timber" starring Kesha by Pitbull was her final No. 1 hit.

Then everything changed.

Kesha entered rehab in 2014 for treatment of an eating condition, and it was at this time that she eliminated the $ from her stage name. In the same year, she sued her producer Gottwald for ten years of sexual assault, gender aggression, and emotional abuse.

Kesha claimed he drugged and raped her twice and subjected her to emotional anguish, calling her a "fat-fucking refrigerator." She claimed that it exacerbated her previously treated eating condition.

Kesha's legal team sought termination of her contract with Dr. Luke after a lengthy trial. In 2016, the New York Supreme Court denied this petition. The lawsuit was dismissed because the judge determined that the statute of limitations had expired, even if the claims were true.

In 2017, Kesha released her first song in years, "Praying," a piano ballad with vocals in her highest range, marking a significant change from her hallmark sing-rap-talk pop successes.
