Jim Seals died a few weeks ago, but his legacy will continue over the years, as proven by their recent chart placement for the song "Summer Breeze."

According to Billboard, the 1972 track currently sits at No. 10 on the LyricFind U.S. and LyricFind Global tallies dated June 18.

The song saw a 643% boost in lyric searches in the United States. It also increased 647% globally from June 6 to 12, days after Seals passed away.

Another Seals & Crofts track, "We May Never Pass This Way (Again)," also got a 1,517% bump in global lyric searches.

"Summer Breeze" was the duo's first Billboard Hot 100 appearance as it placed No.6 in 1972. On the other hand, the other track peaked at No. 21 the following year.

Aside from streams and searches, the first song amassed huge sales in the U.S. from June 3 to June 9, leading it to place No. 43 on the Billboard Digital Song Sales.

In total, the song got 2.2 million official streams, 25% more than their initial numbers from May 27 to June 2, which is 1.7 million.

Jim Seals Dead at 80

In early reports, the singer/songwriter and guitarist of Seals & Crofts died at the age of 80.

His cousin, Brady Seals of Little Texas, confirmed the news online, writing, "I just learned that James "Jimmy" Seals has passed. My heart just breaks for his wife Ruby and their children. Please keep them in your prayers. What an incredible legacy he leaves behind."

According to the BBC, the famed singer died due to "chronic ongoing illness." However, the family did not disclose what type of medical condition he had.

Seals had been working in the music industry before he partnered with Dash Crofts to become a duo.

Before launching their music careers, the two first met in local bands ten years before they started making music together.

The two relocated to Los Angeles, California, to join the Champs, but the new band didn't last, leading them to form their own group.

They later signed a contract under Warner Brothers, leading to the release of numerous classic hits.

Even though their first album failed to hit the charts in 1969, the following two records, "Down Home" and "Year of Sunday," saw success as they entered the Billboard 200 and Canada's top 100.
