After being likened to a music icon, Chris Brown has finally spoken up.

The 33-year-old R&B singer is finally settling the long-running online dispute over whether he or the late Michael Jackson is the superior performer.

The "With You" singer admitted that he doesn't want to be compared to the King of Pop and even acknowledged Jackson with encouraging him to pursue a music career.

When questioned about the famous controversy on "Big Boy's Neighborhood," Brown said, "That's cap."

He wants to "stay the hell up out of it. I'mma keep it a hundred. I kinda back off it," especially when he is questioned about how he handles the conversation about whether or not he is more talented than Jackson.

Humbly, Chris Brown went on to say, "My opinion on it is that if that individual didn't exist, I wouldn't even be breathing or be able to sing a song. I'm not sure if that's a [Michael] Jordan-Kobe [Bryant] thing, but I couldn't look at it. He's light years ahead of everyone. There is no way to compete with him."

The artist's remarks came after Fivio Foreign and Tank both stated that the "No Air" singer is the finest in the music industry.

This month, one user tweeted and later went viral, saying, "Chris Brown is more gifted than Michael Jackson... there I said it!" Have a wonderful week."

Despite the affection from others, Brown isn't interested in making bad comments about Michael Jackson and has even stated that he has shrines to him throughout his home because of the influence he had on his life.

"Hell no, I ain't better than him," the "Forever" hitmaker stated.

Fans Respond to Chris Brown's Remarks

Following Chris Brown's new words, social media users praised his honesty and humility, saying they now have "so much respect" for him.

"I would love to see other artists HUMBLE themselves and check their fans/friends/partners/locals or anything with their ongoing disrespect of MJ," one Twitter user remarked.

Another user stated that Brown was simply "being himself," and begged folks to refrain from comparing him to Michael Jackson and other musicians.

Some are unhappy that Brown is being compared to the "Billie Jean" hitmaker, with one person urging that Jackson's name be "left out of it."

They stated that Jackson should be allowed to "rest in peace."
