It is about damn time that James Corden invites Lizzo on his famous carpool karaoke! Strolling on the streets of sunny Los Angeles, Lizzo rides on James Corden's shotgun for their very musical carpool ride.
The Yitty CEO showcased her vocal chops on the entire ride, even belting out some Beyonce hits and teaching Corden the steps of her now-viral dance craze.
The episode aired a day after Lizzo graced the BET Awards 2022, debuting the song of the summer, Its About Damn Time, on the Microsoft Theatre stage in Los Angeles, California.
Lizzo Carpool Karaoke With James Corden
On last night's episode of The Late Late Show With James Corden, Lizzo finally hopped on Corden's famous auto for a fun-filled musical trip to the CBS Studio.
After the customary pleasantries, James popped out Lizzo's 2016 hit Good As Hell. The two belted out the song, with Lizzo even doing some runs at the latter part.
During the ride, Lizzo, formally known as Melissa Jefferson, recounted the origins of her now-famous screen name.
Apparently, Lizzo is her teenage nickname, derived from Houston's street culture where people split their first name and switch the other half with an "o," which became Lisso, and eventually Lizzo for more "swag."
After Corden attempts to change his name to "Jamezo," they then sang Lizzo's 2019 hit. Surprisingly, Lizzo forgot the first few lines of what critics claimed to be her best song yet. But after a while, she finally picked up and sang it on point.

It is known to many that Lizzo can play the flute very well - this was again showcased on the car ride after the late-night show host requested a quick sample from the hitmaker.

After the sample, the hilarious duo's conversation took a turn when Corden asked Lizzo if she wanted him to call Beyonce, which the latter seriously thought would happen. Instead, the two busted out Queen B's Crazy In Love, with Lizzo even breaking out on a dance and some high runs from the shotgun seat.
At the latter part of the ride, the two finally sang Lizzo's most recent bop, It's About Damn Time - with the hitmaker doing the iconic viral dance on her seat. Lizzo then detailed how the video took over social media.
With Corden curious, he pulled over in a park for Lizzo to teach him the full choreography - which then turned out to be a full spectacle with backup dancers joining them on a now-viral TikTok video.
