After months of teasing their new music, The 1975 has finally announced the details of their upcoming new album.

Being Funny In A Foreign Language is The 1975's fifth studio album, the follow-up on their 2020 hit Notes on a Conditional Form, which received polarising reviews from critics.

The band's newest effort comes with a rather short tracklist, probably the least among their studio albums.

The 1975's New Album 'Being Funny In A Foreign Language'

The English band is making a return to music on Jul. 7, 2022, with their new single, Part Of The Band. Currently, the song is the fourth track to The 1975's new album Being Funny In A Foreign Language.

The band has been quite generous this time around. Matty Healy has already shared a snippet of the lead single on his Instagram account.

The 1975 vocalist Matty Healy also captioned the clip with what seemed to be the lyrics of Part Of The Band.

Unlike its predecessor, Notes on a Conditional Form, which packs 22 tracks, The 1975's new album is rather short - with only eleven tracks, including the customary The 1975 title song.

Being Funny In A Foreign Language is The 1975's shortest studio album to date, trailing behind 2018's A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships which has only 15 tracks and an additional Japanese bonus track 102.

The newest album was teased earlier this month via mysterious posters in London featuring a monochromatic photo of Matty Healy and the date July 7 - which turned to be the arrival of their lead single, Part Of Me.

The highly-awaited album comes after fans have been scrupulously connecting the dots on the small details the band has been giving out on social media.

The speculation of a new album came when The 1975 deactivated their social media accounts, which fans say to be their pattern whenever new music is underway.

Coinciding with the mysterious posters released throughout London, the band members, including their official website and social media accounts, has changed the typeface and branding.

The 1975's new upcoming album will take on the challenge of its predecessor as Notes on A Conditional Form debuted #4 on the Billboard 200 charts and #1 on the UK Album charts on its release.
