Kenneth Petty, the husband of Nicki Minaj, was given one year of home detention and three years of probation for failing to register as a sexual offender. This is far fewer years than the expected ten. Nicki Minaj also did not shy away from showing support to her husband with this sentencing. She took to her social media to make her emotions known.

Nicki offered her support for her hubby on Instagram following his punishment.

On July 6, the 39-year-old rapper uploaded a photo of Kenneth holding their son, as well as a second photo of the family of three.

In the first photograph, Kenneth, 44, was seen holding their 22-month-old son (whose name has not yet been disclosed) on his shoulders while they both looked directly into the camera.

The second shot had Kenneth, their son, with Nicki embracing him while posing near a pink automobile. Nicki accompanied the two photographs with four emojis: heart eyes, hearts, a bow, and a teddy bear.

Her post was published after Kenneth averted a 10-year prison sentence by being sentenced to house arrest.

Kenneth failed to register as a sexual offender when he and his wife moved to California.

He will instead be sentenced to one year of home detention in his multimillion-dollar property in Calabasas and told to pay a $55,000 fine.

Kenneth, who wed Nicki in 2019, pleaded guilty to a federal count of failing to register as a sexual offender in September.

According to CBS Los Angeles, he was sentenced on Wednesday to one year of home detention and three years of probation, although he was facing a maximum prison term of 10 years with a lifetime of supervised release.

Kenneth was convicted of attempted first-degree rape of a 16-year-old girl and sentenced to four years in jail in 1995.

In the state of New York, he is classified as a level-two offender, which translates to a "moderate risk of repeat offense."

Kenneth began dating Nicki in 2018, and they married and relocated to California a year later.

Nicki and Kenneth's son was born on September 30, 2020. Petty was stopped by the Beverly Hills Police Department in November 2019 and it was revealed that he was a registered sex offender in New York, but he had not registered in California as needed.

Petty entered a guilty plea at the time, but his case was repeatedly postponed before he was sentenced.

Prosecutors recommended 15 months of prison sentence and five years of supervised release, as opposed to home detention, because he lives with Nicki in a gated neighborhood in Calabasas, which they argued was not a sufficient 'punishment'

If there's someone the rapper cannot support though, it's Kanye West.

Nicki Minaj halted her New Orleans performance on Friday to ostensibly diss her fellow rapper, Kanye West.

During her headlining performance at the Essence Festival of Culture, the 39-year-old rapper instructed her DJ to turn off "Monster," a 2010 collaboration with the 45-year-old West.

"I'm 'Monster'-ed out, and we don't f-k with clowns," she explained to the crowd, before shifting the subject and saying she liked to "give a shout-out to New Orleans."
