Nicki Minaj is currently one of the most in-demand rappers in the United States. The artist, who has been active in the music industry for almost a decade, has an enormous fan base. But are her social media numbers fake? Did she buy her followers? This is a serious allegation because in today's world, nothing spells success more than having a legion of socmed followers. Nothing smells like failure too than having a very small number of followers.

She has millions of followers and enjoys fame on every platform, including Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, so her fan base is apparent on her social media accounts as well.

However, according to the most recent "study," the number of individuals who follow her on Instagram may not be as high as it appears. The singer is accused of purchasing fake Instagram followers to enhance her number of followers! Continue reading to learn more about the stunning development.

A Twitter page called "Now HipHop News" has made the claim. The page tweeted two photographs of the rapper's inactive Instagram followers.

Alongside the photographs, the post stated, "BREAKING NEWS: Nicki Minaj has been caught buying fake followers on Instagram."

The graphic displays that the 39-year-old singer has a total of 193.99 million Instagram followers, of which 79.8 million have been designated as real followers and 114.3 million as inactive followers.

This results in 59 percent of her followers being identified as phony by her Twitter username. Additionally, the likes on her posts have been evaluated. According to reports, the average number of likes on an Anaconda post is 2.83 million as opposed to the aim of 6.79 million.

Given that 'Now HipHop News' has a verified Twitter profile and about 1 million followers, this report can certainly sway opinions.

Still, the validity of the report of "fake followers" has not yet been proven. Nicki has not commented on the subject at this time.

Minaj's supporters however, refuse to be called fake. They exist and they can be loud if their idol needs them to be.  Some said Cardi B must be behind this news.

After the tweet went viral, Nicki's followers flocked to her defense, claiming the rumor could be false. Many of the singer's supporters have responded to the tweet. A admirer remarked that these are all lies. Some hinted that if Cardi B wants to make Nicki look terrible, she'll have to pay a little more to have something that would look more credible against Minaj.

Recently, pregnancy rumors circulated concerning the singer as well. It appears though that regardless of her true number of followers, Nicki Minaj does not need more fame. She is no doubt, one of the most famous female rappers to date.
