Metallica just released "Master of Pupppets'" Official Lyric Video 36 years after it was released.

Thanks to the boost that "Stranger Things" Season 4 gave the metal-classic hit, both new and old fans of the song are now enjoying its eye-popping lyric video.

But it seemed like Metallica, who were all fans of the Netflix hit, used imagery inspired from "Stranger Things."

Metallica 'Master of Puppets' Official Lyric Video Released

"Master of Puppets," the title track of Metallica's third studio album of the same name, was released on Jul. 2, 1986, making it 36 years old today.

Coincidentally, the episode where "Master of Puppets" was used on "Stranger Things" Season 4 aired exclusively on Netflix a day before its actual birthday, on Jul. 1, 2022.

Since Joseph Quinn's character Eddie Munson shredded his electric guitar on the upside down, the track has taken off from 1986 to 2022 charts.

With the massive resurgence in streaming, track, and even album sales, the heavy-metal band finally released a lyric video for "Master of Puppets."

'Master Of Puppets' Lyric Video Inspired by 'Stranger Things'?

From the eye-popping visuals to neon-lighted imagery of electric guitars, the new "Master of Puppets" lyric video seemed to be a blast from the past.

Notably, the colors and the dark grunge theme fits perfectly well in the very scene where Quinn's character performed the track on the show's season finale.

Although the band has not confirmed that the actual music video used inspirations from the show itself as practically, the track and the show came from the same era - which would mean that they would be similar in some aspects.

However, the similarities and thematic visuals are like the show title - they are "stranger things," like how Billboard described it.

Surely with the new lyric video, the song might see another surge in streaming and sales from here and there, just like the first few weeks since the show's season 4 finale.

'Master of Puppets' 2022 Charts Success

Almost four decades since its release, this is the first time that "Master of Puppets" reached both the United Kingdom and the United States Top 40 charts.

From No. 47 years ago, "Puppets" climbed to No. 23 on the UK charts.

Meanwhile, in the US, the 1986 classic hit debuted on the July 16 charts at the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 40.

Luminate reports that "Master of Puppets" earned 9.6 million official US streams and sold 7,000 downloads on its opening week last July 1-7, 2022.

At the same time, it also earned Metallica's first No. 1 on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart after it concurrently arrived at Nos. 4 and 6 on Hot Rock Songs and Hot Rock & Alternative Songs, respectively.
