Rina Sawayama has been serving her fans new music and visuals over the past few months as she gears up for the release of her upcoming album "Hold The Girl." Recently, the singer dropped the music video of the title song and it gave fans an insight into the trauma she faced growing up.

According to The Fader, the British pop star's music video featured herself living alone in an old deserted house trying to get away from it. However, an unknown force keeps on bringing her back to her bed every time she attempts to escape.

The outlet noted that Sawayama's video matches the deep meaning behind the song, especially in the line, "Sometimes I just wanna run away, leave behind the old me, start again."

At the end of the Ali Kurr-directed video, the "Free Woman" songstress was able to escape the house along with a group of people and they danced in front of bright headlights in the middle of nowhere.

The recent music video comes almost two weeks after the 31-year-old songstress revealed the meaning behind the song.

In early reports, Sawayama said she underwent an emotional therapy session where the doctor told her to "hold the inner child."

As she was on her way to the recording studio, she immediately wrote the track in her notes app.

The music video comes a few days after the "Snakeskin" hitmaker announced her US tour which will kick off at Great Hall at Avant Gardner in Brooklyn, New York, on November 1.
