Selena Gomez has stepped out of the music industry to venture out into her other passions like being an entrepreneur for her cosmetics line Rare Beauty and being one of the cast members of "Only Murders in the Building."

Last year, many fans were bothered after hinting at a possible retirement from the music industry, saying people "dont take her seriously."

However, it appears that supporters could still expect music projects from the former Disney star as revealed by sources.

According to insiders who spoke to Hollywood Life, the 30-year-old musician won't stop making music because songwriting is like a "therapy" for her.

Since Gomez is a perfectionist, the source noted that she will not be rushing her future projects.

Regarding her inspiration behind the songs that she's currently writing, the insider revealed that leaving her 20s made a big impact on her and it inspired her to create more music.

"When she gets inspired, she works on stuff and she's slowly but surely been creating stuff for her album but there's no set timeline for anything," the source added.

Regarding a possible collaboration, the insider noted that she was proud of teaming up with Coldplay a few months ago as it was a "dream come true" for her.

"She wants to do more collabs for sure, she's got plenty she wants to do still when it comes to her music," they added.

It's unclear when Gomez is going to release more music or collaborate with other artists, but the source clarified that she's busy with acting as it is her "lifelong dream" to work with two of her idols in the world of comedy.

"Again, she has very high standards for herself and works very hard so she's been hyper focused on the show and all the effort has paid off," the source concluded.

Selena Gomez's most recent music project was "Revelacion," a Grammy Award-nominated EP recorded in full Spanish.

Her last full-length album was "Rare" released in 2020.

Per a separate source, the singer has been recording an upcoming album and she feels like it is her best music to date.
