Fans were shocked after reports about Darius Campbell Danesh's death circulated online. Recently, his haunting last photos were released to the public, revealing that he hung out with a celebrity weeks before his shocking death.

According to Daily Mail UK, the former "Pop Idol" star appeared to be all smiles in Los Angeles nine weeks before his passing.

In a selfie circulating online, the singer can be seen wearing a brown shirt and a cap as he posed with a fan outside Rod Stewart's Hollywood Bowl despite talking to someone on the phone.

Days prior to the fan encounter, he was photographed with actor Gerard Butler. The two became good pals when Danesh moved to the United States.

The two can be seen barefoot along Malibu beach as the singer walked his dog. The "Species" star had been living in America for 15 years before his tragic death.

In early reports, fans were devastated as the actor was reportedly found unresponsive in his apartment in Minnesota.

His death was also confirmed by his family, saying, "The local police department has confirmed that there were no signs of intent or suspicious circumstances." (via the outlet mentioned above)

As of this writing, Danesh's cause of death remains a mystery, but the family assured that his remains will undergo medical examinations to determine how he died.

Who Was Darius Campbell Danesh?

The Scotland native rose to fame after appearing in the first season of "Pop Idol" in the United Kingdom. He was also featured in the series "Popstars" produced by ITV.

Aside from being a successful singer, he's also a theater actor on the West End as he previously performed in shows like "Chicago," "Funny Girl," and many more.

Early in his career, Simon Cowell offered him a record deal to work with producer Steve Lillywhite, but he refused to.

He then released his first album in 2002 titled "Dive In," which became successful as it placed at number six on the UK Albums chart.

Regarding his career as an actor, he made history after being cast as the youngest actor to star in the West End production of "Chicago" where he played the role of Billy Flynn.

Other notable roles include Sky Materson on "Guys and Dolls," Nick Arnstein in "Funny Girl," and many more.
