Two different genres are expected to be combined as Grimes has teased fans again regarding collaboration music with The Weekend. The big question is; when is it coming out?

According to NME, the "Player of Games" songstress first teased the collaboration in 2021 by replying to fans on her official Discord server.

When a user asked if she'll be teaming up with the "Save Your Tears" hitmaker, she replied, "Hmmm surprise for yalls."

Another user also expressed the same sentiments, to which the singer replied "it's called Sci Fi."

Fast forward today, the dance/electronic spoke to Vogue China where she revealed more information about the highly-anticipated song.

The track, titled "Sci Fi," is said to come out anytime this summer and there will be a music video that "will be a trip."

Regarding the visuals, Grimes said it's worth watching to the end because there will be monologues for dramatic purposes.

As of this writing, the two have not confirmed an official release date for the song and music video.

Other Grimes Updates

Elsewhere in the interview, the singer, popularly known for her Alien-esque aesthetic, opened up about her upcoming album "Book 1" and her AI girl group NPC.

She noted that both exist in the same dimension as the girls live in the record.

"If we were living in the cosmic lore of 'Book 1', NPC would be the pop girl group that dominated the culture and their EP would be called 'Fairies C** First', so all these projects would come together and merge into one project at the end," she added.

In other recent collaborations, Grimes is one of the featuring artists that appeared on Bella Poarch's EP titled "Dolls."

Her vocals were featured on the song "No Man's Land," and she also starred in the music video for the EP's title track.

Speaking about the experience of filming with Grimes, Poarch said they had fun but it was "kind of scary" to shoot some of the scenes.

"Grimes and I had to go through fight training and it's one of the coolest things I've done in a while," the TikTok star added.

Regarding a new song, the singer shared an unreleased track titled "Welcome To The Opera" during her set at Electric Daisy Carnival months ago.

She revealed more details on Twitter, saying she worked with producer Anyma and she will probably drop the demo if her collaborator is okay with the idea.
