Dr. Dre shares a chilling revelation of a near-death encounter he experienced last year, a time when he did not actually realize what is until his family came into his supposed death bed.

Who would have thought that the music community was almost on the brink of losing a rap idol last January 2021? Well, Dr. Dre is almost at death's door because of a brain aneurysm he had.

Dr. Dre Almost Died Because of Brain Aneurysm

In an interview on Workout the Doubt podcast, Dr. Dre revealed that he did not know he was on his deathbed until his family came to say their goodbyes already.

Staying at Cedars Sinai Hospital in California at a time when COVID-19 was still surging, Dr. Dre was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm that is waiting to explode anytime soon.

"I'm at Cedars Sinai hospital and they weren't allowing anybody to come up, meaning visitors or family or anything like that, because of COVID, but they allowed my family to come in. I found out later, they called them up so they could say their last goodbyes because they thought I was outta here," he recalled.

At first, he did not have an idea what was going on until the doctors explained that he had to wake him up hourly to ensure that his brain was functioning properly despite the brain aneurysm.

The "Forget About Dre" hitmaker also revealed to the podcast that he was taking neurological tests in the ICU for two weeks for the doctors to check his condition.

"Because of what was going on in my brain, they had to wake me up every hour on the hour for two weeks to do these tests. Basically looking like sobriety tests, like touch your nose, rub your heel on your calf and all that shit," Dre elaborated.

"I've never had high blood pressure. And I've always been a person that has always taken care of my health. But there's something that happens for some reason with Black men and high blood pressure, and I never saw that coming," Dre said recently.

As of this writing, Dr. Dre has been taking care of himself, advising that black men should check out their blood pressures to avoid health scares like what he experienced.
