Kurt Cobain's left-handed Competition Lake placid blue finish guitar featured in the music video of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was previously sold for millions of dollars and another instrument owned by the late legend is now up for sale at an auction again; how much would it cost?

According to Complex, Kruse GWS Auctions will be launching a "Legends of Rock and Roll" auction which will be exclusively available online.

Among the items up for sale is Cobain's acoustic guitar with an estate receipt. The official website lists the item with a starting bid of $50,000 with $5,000 increments.

As explained in the description of the item, the Franciscan CS-19 Acoustic Guitar with an official invoice was acquired from the Cobain Estate in 1996 after the singer's death.

Over the past 20 years, the instrument was a part of a private collection until today.

Along with the instrument, which features a Dean Markley sticker, comes the original handwritten invoice and a hard case.

The live bidding will begin on October 15 at 10 a.m. PT.

Other Items Up For Auction

Aside from Kurt Cobain's personal memorabilia, other instruments will also be sold at the event including Jimi Hendrix's Japanese sunburst electric guitar which has a starting bidding price of a whopping $250,000.

Other items include Elvis Presley's 1975 Martin D-28 guitar, Johnny Cash's 14K bracelet and ring set, Rick James' snake jumpsuit, and many more.

Guitars from Paul Stanley, Tom DeLonge, and Robert Smith will also be up for auction.

Who Bought Kurt Cobain's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' Guitar?

In early reports, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay placed a whopping $2 million bid on the memorabilia for it to be a part of his "greatest" guitar collection. Coltswire reported that the sports enthusiaist won the guitar for $4.5 million.

The instrument initially had a price tag of $600,000 to $800,000.

Irsay is known for having an extensive collection of guitars owned by legends as he spent millions of dollars obtaining them, including Bob Dylan's Stratocaster, George Harrison's Gibson, and many more.

Cobain gushed about his electric guitar in his final interview with Guitar World, saying it's hard to find a reasonably-priced left-handed guitar that has good quality.

"But out of all the guitars in the whole world, the Fender Mustang is my favorite. I've only owned two of them," he said at the time.
