Taylor Swift and The 1975 are set to release new albums this month and many fans have been speculating whether they're collaborating on a song or not after a fan posted an alleged tracklist of the former's "Midgnights" album. However, it appears that it wasn't true as confirmed by the band, but it doesn't mean they're closing their doors in the future.

Speaking to BBC Radio 1, band members Matty Healy and George Daniel shut down the rumors, confirming that they're not currently working with the pop star.

However, the frontman clarified that they would love to collaborate with her because they think she's "one of the best songwriters" in the music industry today.

"We haven't done it yet. We'd love to though," he added. (via Billboard)

Despite not collaborating, the group has been in touch with the singer as Healy previously revealed that Swift had a chance to listen to their upcoming album early, saying her reaction was "so funny."

The rumors about the collaboration started when a fan account shared an alleged leaked tracklist of Swift's album that includes a song titled "In My Dreams (feat. The 1975)."

However, Healy was quick to shut down the circulating information by quote-retweeting the post, writing, "I would love that! But unfortunately FAKE NEWS :(."
