Producers of "The Voice" were already plotting to remove Blake Shelton off the program before he announced his departure.

Blake made the poignant news on Tuesday that he will leaving the program after 23 seasons.

While fans expressed their regret and anger with his choice, the cast of "The Voice" apparently breathed a sigh of relief.

More than a year ago, when Ariana Grande joined the ensemble, Radar Online revealed that the show's producers are privately trying to replace Blake Shelton with someone younger and more up-to-date.

"Before Ariana Grande signed on, current top ten musicians including Justin Bieber, Lil Nas X, Billie Elish, Olivia Rodrigo, and The Weeknd were all concerned about appearing on a competition program."

"It's time for a shake-up," their insider stated. The only way to keep the program new is to keep changing."

Blake Shelton decided to leave "The Voice" after 12 years, the same program on which he met his now-wife Gwen Stefani.

"I've been debating this for a long time, and I've concluded that it's time for me to leave 'The Voice' after Season 23."

"This show has altered my life in every way for the better, and it will always feel like home to me," the "Minimum Wage" singer continued.

However, it appeared that Blake had concerns about becoming a part of the performance, such as "it takes a lot of labor, enthusiasm, and alcoholic drinks to pull off a live show twice a week."

Blake won the competition eight times and mentored 15 vocalists whose songs reached number one on the iTunes Top Songs chart.

As part of the initial lineup, he helped debut the show in April 2011, alongside Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, and CeeLo Green.

With the departure of the "God's Country" singer, show producers are apparently looking to find another younger talent to replace the country icon once he departs.

'The Voice' is Doomed

According to the New York Post, Blake Shelton's resignation means "The Voice" is doomed, calling his departure the "beginning of the demise of the program."

Despite Adam's departure in 2019, they stated that the country singer has carried the program since then.

His steady presence throughout the years offered reassuring stability for the show, which featured a rotating door of other judges seated in the three chairs to his right.
