Did Kanye West really come up with the plot of "Django Unchained?" The rapper claimed that it was his idea that he pitched to Jamie Foxx and Quentin Tarantino.

The 45-year-old rapper had a sit-down interview with Piers Morgan, where he shared the allegations, "Tarantino can write a movie about slavery where-actually him and Jamie [Foxx], they got the idea from me because the idea for 'Django' I pitched to Jamie Foxx and Quentin Tarantino as the video for 'Gold Digger'. And then Tarantino turned it into a film."

However, according to the reports, the theme and concepts behind the movie and West's music video have nothing in common.

"Django Unchained," released in 2012, follows a freed slave, portrayed by Foxx, who teams up with a bounty hunter to rescue his wife from slavery.

On the other hand, the "Gold Digger" music video, released in 2005, has a different concept. It depicted women posing for what appears to be magazine covers.

According to reports, "Django Unchained" started shooting in 2011, six years after the alleged pitch, which raised some fans' eyebrows. Furthermore, the movie became a hit, and it reportedly earned $425.4 million, which became Tarantino's highest-grossing movie of all time.

As of this writing, neither Foxx nor Tarantino have addressed West's claims.

Controversy

As of late, the "Flashing Lights" singer has been under scrutiny for several questionable actions, such as sporting a "White Lives Matter" shirt, and several anti-Semitic sentiments.

This caused several individuals and Balenciaga to cut ties with the rapper. According to reports, the luxury fashion house severed ties with him, despite their long history of working and collaborating together.

"Balenciaga has no longer any relationship nor any plans for future projects related to this artist," they told Women's Wear Daily.

Vogue Magazine's editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, also cut ties with the rapper following his recent statements and behavior, reports say. This comes after a decades-long friendship between the two.

"Anna has had enough," an insider told Page Six. "She has made it very clear inside Vogue that Kanye is no longer part of the inner circle."

This might mean that West will not be making a Met Gala appearance anytime soon.

Another figure in the fashion industry also cut ties with the rapper. Supreme's creative director, Tremaine Emory also had enough of West following the "WLM" shirt incident during Paris Fashion Week.

He called West out and called him an "insecure narcissist that's dying for validation from the fashion world." West retaliated by calling the creative director "Tremendez," and even filed for a trademark.
