Matthew Ward, popularly known for his alias DJ Mighty House, has tragically passed away as announced by his record label; what was his cause of death?

According to a statement issued by Defected Records on Twitter, the house/disco musician died in his sleep at his home in Spain on October 20. He was 48 years old.

The label is devastated over the DJ's death as it was unexpected. His cause of death was an aortic aneurysm.

"A Very kind human being and talented. We had a wonderful chat a few months ago in the UK in the green room at the club we both played. Rest In Peace," Grammy Award-winning DJ Louie Vega wrote.

Aortic Aneurysm was the same condition that Judas Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner suffered from a year ago. Fortunately for the musician, he was able to make a full recovery from his medical woe.

"We are all lost without his enormous presence and talent. Our thoughts are with his partner, Ellen, and his Mum, Judy, as well as his wider family and many, many friends and fans," the statement concludes.

According to Billboard, DJ Mighty Mouse worked in the music industry for more than 10 years, but it was in 2019 when his career started skyrocketing after dropping his track "The Spirit."

The song was released through the record label's Glitterbox imprint. It amassed massive success as it was named the Hottest Record in the World by BBC Radio 1's "DJ Annie Mac's Show."

In addition, his remix of "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!" by ABBA also became popular after DJ Folamour played it at the FLY Open Air Festival years ago.
