Justin Bieber and Shawn Mendes were recently spotted together in California, but the two Canadian pop stars weren't singing on any stage or dressed to do any exclusive performance.

Earlier this year, the two singers canceled their respective world tours, citing a mental health break as the reason for their hiatus.

For Justin Bieber, the move came after his unfortunate diagnosis of the Ramsay Hunt disease, which largely affected the mobility of the other half of his face.

On the other hand, Mendes decided to cancel his own tour because of his exhaustion from touring and consecutive performances.

Turns out, the two were actually taking a well-deserved mental health break, after all.

Photos of the two heartthrobs in the same car last night have gone viral on social media. Netizens have their own respective interpretation of the circulating photo, but there is one very apparent reason.

Many have pointed out that the two were actually dating, despite Bieber being married to Hailey Baldwin and Mendes getting out of a breakup with The Voice coach Camila Mendes.

However, according to TMZ, who snapped the photo - all of them were wrong.

Apparently, the Canadian pop stars, who share a lot in common, were actually worshipping together in church.

The two were attending the Churchome in Beverly Hills, California, although it was not sure if Justin or Shawn sang in church as the "Love Yourself" hitmaker did in the past.

Earlier this year, Shawn Mendes canceled his highly-anticipated "Wonder" tour.

"I know you all have been waiting so long to see these shows, and it breaks my heart to tell you this but I promise I will be back as soon as I've taken the right time to heal. I love you all and thank you all so much for supporting me and sticking by me on this journey," he said in a statement.

Per the statement, the Canadian superstar revealed that he had sought the help of mental health professionals, as he says that he is working with them already.

More so, Shawn further says that the excitement he had before starting the tour might have been "premature" as he confirmed that pressure got into him and he has hit a "breaking point."
