Katy Perry demonstrated that she knows precisely when to poke fun at herself.

While fans were trying to determine why the singer's right eye wouldn't close correctly after the conclusion of one of her Las Vegas shows, Perry took to Instagram on Thursday, October 27 to mock herself about the situation... and to promote her Sin City residency at the same time. What a wise move.

Posting a clip of the mid-concert eye malfunction, the "Fireworks" singer seems to imply that the extension of her PLAY engagement would cause anyone to "malfunction."

She captioned the amusing video: "POV: when you notice new 2023 PLAY dates."

In the lengthy statement, Katy encouraged fans, even the eye-twitching conspiracy theorists, to attend the performance.

She wrote she's welcoming all her #flatearthers #spaceisfakes #birdsarentrealers #skyisntbluers to come watch her shattered doll eye party trick IRL in Vegas next year, in reference to the glitch that happened on her recent performance. Fans had a hoot over it, calling her a robot.

Looks like she's not fazed with any of it by any chance.

She added that the show's set selection is a nostalgic trip down memory lane all the way to 2008, a time when people weren't all paralyzed by our own echo chambers.

She went on to explain that the concert's subject is "finding unconditional love" and that it has no political overtones and an NSFW "party trick."

She ended her post by saying she's looking forward to singing alongside her fans in 2023.

After the eye issue went popular online thanks to a TikTok video of it a day earlier, followers were in a frenzy attempting to figure out what happened.

One follower noted that Katy Perry was having a "mechanical failure" and that she even pressed the button to keep it open. Another joked, "cat purry 2.0 upgrade."

A  few began to believe the pop star was a member of the Illuminati. However, it appears that Katy will get the final laugh, as she anticipated the joke, turned it around by dragging herself, and then utilized the chance to inform her 177 million Instagram fans about the extension of her PLAY residency in Las Vegas. It appears that her own software and programming are operating quite well - if she's a computer program or robot, that is.
