Aaron Carter was supposed to be doing something productive the night before he was discovered dead in his bathtub.

After his fiancée Melanie Martin persuaded him that he needed treatment, the 34-year-old musician attended a rehab program.

Melanie allegedly confronted the "I'm All About You" singer about his drug misuse in September, while fans phoned the cops to do a welfare check on him after suspecting him of inhaling compressed air while on Instagram Live.

The "Candy" singer introduced himself as the "troll hunter," claiming to be spraying what seemed to be an air freshener.

Authorities responded to a complaint about a person "maybe overdosing on social media," and they arrived at the residence in Lancaster, California. Aaron ultimately answered the door, but claimed the cops he was sleeping. His residence was drug-free.

According to TMZ, Nick Carter's younger brother decided to go to treatment in order to reclaim custody of his kid, Prince. Though the court did not order him to do so, he saw it as a step closer to seeing his kid, who was being cared for by Melanie's mother.

Aaron had attended numerous sessions of the program and was set to have another online session the night before the catastrophe on Friday evening. He did not, however, attend the conference.

Aaron Carter was discovered drowned in his bathtub the next day by his housekeeping. He was last heard from around 2 a.m. on Friday, according to authorities.

The housekeeper went to his room to inform him that the authorities were outside doing a welfare check, and he allegedly instructed the housekeeper to tell them to go and never came out of his room.

Aaron was not seen by the housekeeper on Friday or Saturday morning until she walked into his room and discovered his lifeless body.

According to accounts, the corpse had been in the tub for longer than it had been decaying. Even the water became yellow. When Aaron's body was discovered, the jets in the bathtub were still flowing.

Aaron Carter's autopsy was finished this week, but the results have been delayed due to a toxicology testing.

The musician is known to have suffered with substance abuse in his later years, with the likelihood that the compressed air cans contributed to his deadly drowning.
