Bob Dylan is one of the best-selling musicians of all time. With his innate command on stage and his killer voice, coupled with his undeniable charisma, the music icon's life had been a talking point for many of his fans worldwide.

Recently, a personal part of his love life has been auctioned off for a good cause.

According to the Associated Press, Dylan's teenage love letters will be up for sale in Boston, Massachusets.

Apparently, Dylan, who was known then as Bob Zimmerman, wrote a total of 42 letters to his then-girlfriend, Barbara Ann Hewitt, from 1957 until 1959, with correspondences totaling 150 pages.

It was Hewitt's daughters who had discovered the letters when her mother died in 2020. Based on some information, the letters show the music icon's formative years.

It was said that he had expressed his first intentions on changing his name, which he had successfully accomplished, and about his goal of selling a million records - a feat that he has also achieved and even exceeded.

The archived letters had never been made public up until now, although more contents of the sweet letters were not revealed yet.

"This archive is one of the most culturally important of the 20th century we have ever offered," RR Auction Executive Vice President Bobby Livingston said in a statement. RR Auction is the firm that is spearheading the huge sale.

Based on reports, it will be auctioned for a starting sum of $250,000.

Teasing more of the contents of the letters, Livingston has this to say: "They really give an insight into how he's going to present himself. It shows that Dylan dreamed all this up, and it all came true - he foresaw it."

But fans are asking, who is the girl he wrote to?

Based on Livingston's speculations, who is a huge Bob Dylan fan, Hewitt was the same redhead that the singer has been referencing in his songs, including the "auburn-haired women." (via Billboard)

"Early one morning, the sun was shining, I was laying in bed, Wondering if she'd changed it all, If her hair was still red," Dylan sang in his 1975 song "Tangled Up in Blue."

The two's relationship didn't move further as Hewitt married another Hibbing man but divorced later on. Meanwhile, Dylan married Sarah, his first wife, and Carolyn Dennis, which he also divorced.
