Whoops. Looks like Music Times and a whole bunch of other music media got punked by Morrissey this week. A report on the vocalist's fan site, True To You, made it seem that Moz had been dropped from Harvest Records, and although the label itself didn't confirm the news, we ran with it anyways. New reports from the company indicate that the former Smiths frontman is still locked into his contract with the label.

The rumors began when Morrissey posted his praise for several fans that had created homemade videos for tracks from his recent release World Peace Is None of Your Business, before he went on to criticize his label for not creating a video for the title track.

"A similar document ought to have been harvested by the record label, but please understand that the pop or rock industry can be as dedicated to perpetuating public deception as the world of politics itself," he wrote.

After referring to his label as a proponent of "perpetuating public deception," it was understandable that it might consider dropping Morrissey. After all, he's put out his last five albums on four different record labels. But no, Harvest seems willing to put up with Morrissey's crap for the length of the two-album contract he's signed with them for. No word on when we can expect his next album, but it can't be soon enough for Harvest we're sure.

We'll take this as our yearly reminder that we shouldn't necessarily believe everything that comes from the Moz's mouth. Although we did enjoy reading his Autobiography earlier this year.
