Cardi B has addressed why she still has not released her highly-anticipated sophomore album several times before, but this is the first time she has cited her mental health as the deciding factor.

During a live session, the "WAP" rapper revealed that she struggles with anxiety and it has hindered her from releasing the album. "I do have anxiety. I've been having a lot of anxiety [because] I know right after I drop my album I have to go on tour and I have bad separation anxiety from my kids."

Although the album is surely nearly completed, if not, already completed, Cardi does not seem to think it's ready.

"When it comes to the music, I just be feeling like I don't be liking anything. I feel like I got so many songs, I just don't like nothing," she continued. "Like nothing is good enough. I got so much f**king money saved up, I be like, 'Yeah, whatever the f**k.'"

According to reports, Cardi also added that she has made quite a handsome sum through her other performances, which only reminded her how successful she is and how much her fans have supported her.

"Every time I perform, something wakes up in me and I remember why I do this. Because I love this. I love to perform," Cardi added.

However, she also noted that despite the fans' cheers, the criticism is always louder, and it has only demotivated.

"I used to love to make music. But now, making music to me has become a job that gives me anxiety because everybody just critique everything that I do that it's just like sometimes you just don't want to do something that may give you that much anxiety. I just be freezing myself."

High Expectations

It comes as no surprise why Cardi feels pressured to make a spectacular sophomore album, after all, her debut, "Invasion of Privacy" was a massive hit.

Cardi, born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, released "Invasion of Privacy" on Apr. 6, 2018, and it received widespread acclaim from music critics and was a commercial success.

Sites like hotnewhiphop.com, remezcla.com, and MTV praised the musician's debut album.

Cardi's sophomore album has to live up to its predecessor, which earned Best Rap Album at the 2019 Grammy Awards and Album of the Year at the 2019 BET Awards. No wonder Cardi's anxious!
